KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Pigeon Forge Fire Department has named a new fire chief.
Josh Carr, who has spent more than 22 years with the department, was officially appointed as fire chief on Monday.
“Josh began his journey with the department as a volunteer and has steadily risen through the ranks, earning the respect and trust of his peers every step of the way,” Pigeon Forge City Manager David Wear said. “Over the years, he has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, deep commitment to the community, and a wealth of fire service knowledge that has been invaluable to our department.”
Carr has served as interim fire chief since July when then-chief Tony Watson submitted a retirement letter.
