FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A minority-owned production studio out of Northwest Arkansas has been chosen to participate in an internation film festival.

The production company BLK ELK is based in Fayetteville, and their short film "Jaunt" was selected from over 570 submissions representing 45 countries.

"Daniel and I started this company ten years ago. There used to be a Banff film tour that would come here to Fayetteville. And we'd used to go to it for years, and years and years, and we were always like, man, it'd be awesome to have a film in this," executive producer Trent Sugg said.

In just a few weeks, BLK ELK will screen their brand-new production 'Jaunt' on center stage at the renowned 50th annual Banff Mountain Film Festival in Canada.
