IVA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Iva Fire Department reports its fire chief was hit by a vehicle while working on Monday.
The fire department shared a message from Chief Curt Brickle’s wife regarding his condition. She said he was airlifted to Prisma Health and is in stable condition.
Hospital staff fixed a bleed near his chest near his ribs, and he is scheduled to have a procedure to put plates in to stabilize rib fractures, according to his wife.
His wife asked for prayers for relief from his pain.
