AMADO, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory Science Center in Santa Cruz County has closed its doors again, just days after reopening.
The center in Amado shut down due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. The closure began on Wednesday and affects Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo as well.
The center will remain closed on Friday because of communication delays in rural Arizona. Staff said they will provide updates once the situation is resolved.
