The festive season is just around the corner, and emotions are at their peak. From festive decor to delicious delights, everything is planned, but we often forget to plan what to eat and how to track our eating schedule. As emotions run high, people tend to overeat, sometimes out of celebration, sometimes out of stress or nostalgia. But what this does to the body is a bigger concern.
“Whenever you overeat, or you are taking excess calories, the type of food you eat matters,” says Dr . Suranjit Chatterjee, Internal Medicine, Apollo Hospital. He adds, “If you are eating the right food, not a lot of fat or calories, it may help your satiety. But overeating fatty foods or sugars over time can have a detrimental effect.”
