Former Utah Senator and ex-Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s sister-in-law, Carrie Elizabeth Romney, was found dead on a street in Los Angeles Friday evening (US time), as per American reports. At age 64, she was reportedly found dead near a shopping mall parking garage and a Hyatt Regency Hotel in the suburb Valencia, California, at about 8:30 pm.

Although details surrounding the fatal tragedy are still unclear, officials are considering she may have jumped or fallen from a building.

Los Angeles County Deputy Brenda Serna told the New York Post in an email that they were still trying to figure out if Carrie Romney “jumped or fell” from the garage or another building in the area. The Los Angeles Country Coroner’s office has also yet to determine a cause of death.
