Lonnie Eldon Ogborn was born on January 23, 1961, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Eldon and Geneal Ogborn. He was the surprise blessing born later in his parents’ lives and joined three loving older sisters.

Lonnie loved life. He had an endless curiosity and enjoyed learning about just about anything—especially through documentaries.

As a young man, Lonnie was active in the Boy Scouts, where he created some of his favorite memories, including surviving a 50-mile hike through Glacier National Park. His scoutmaster, Ferrel Dilworth, became a lifelong friend, and Ferrel and Susan Dilworth’s family became like his own.

During high school, Lonnie played football and wrestled. He loved to tell the story that “no one could ever pin him.”
