INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Youngsters at Independence Primary School have been exploring the world of learning in a wide variety of ways this fall.
Students have been strengthening math skills with a new “Number Corner” as part of the school‘s introduction of the Bridges in Mathematics curriculum.
The corner experience is a daily activity based on the calendar, designed to reinforce and extend key concepts through “spiraling introduction,” in which ideas are introduced and revisited throughout the year.
“Students practice computation fluency, counting, number sense, addition and subtraction, and geometry in engaging, hands-on ways that build confidence and understanding over time,” a school news release noted.
