HARVEY, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A Wells County man who had pleaded guilty to attempted burglary and other charges related to a home break-in has been sentenced.

Jacob Gable was sentenced to 20 years, with 13 being suspended. He will serve seven years in jail and have five years of probation.

Gable was arrested after an October 2024 incident where he broke into a house and was shot by the homeowner. He was on probation at the time.

In July, Gable pleaded guilty to five criminal counts, including attempted burglary, terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing, ingesting a controlled substance, and criminal mischief.
