An Australian man has furiously hit out at his local Australia Post delivery driver after his note about an important package was ignored.

The Reddit user attached a sign to his letterbox informing his postman that he was home and able to help with the delivery of the parcel if necessary.

"I am home! I can help with my package if need as it's heavy. Please feel free to knock and ask," the note read.

The Aussie revealed he was motivated to leave the note after receiving several "missed parcel delivery" notes in the past, despite being home during the delivery window.

Sharing the supposedly foolproof plan online, he wrote: "Very expensive and large package coming today . . . ain't no way in hell I’m driving to the airport to pick it up because of my area’s driver.
