RICHMOND – Playing a team three times in one season is never easy to do.
Teams know each other well when they play twice in conference play year-after-year and there’s always the case where they’ll meet up in the postseason a third time.
Such is life in the Imlay City and Richmond rivalry.
The two schools only 15 miles apart faced off on the soccer pitch three times this season with Imlay city winning the rubber match 4-2 Monday in A Division 3 district semifinals clash at Richmond.
Imlay City defeated the Blue Devils 3-0 back on Aug. 18 in the Blue Water Area Conference opener for both schools, then the two tied 1-1 on September 15 in the second meet, also in BWAC play.
