TRENTON, Fla. (WCJB) - Trenton city leaders met Monday night to discuss a few topics, like allowing chickens in residential areas, road infrastructure, and speeding in school zones.

This took up most of the time, as the police chief wanted to implement these cameras, but some council members had questions.

Council members paused bids for the road infrastructure to focus on getting bids for cameras in school areas to prevent speeders.

Trenton Police Chief Matthew Rexroat says this is his second time bringing this up in city council meetings. He says, although no wrecks have happened, they want to prevent it from getting there.

“I also presented them with about four studies showing how speed cameras are a great deterrent and actually work quite well,” said Rexroat.
