Unidentified individuals have killed a man, Macheso Nyozo, and dumped his body in the Shire River in Nsanje District.

Nsanje Police Spokesperson Agnes Zalakoma confirmed the incident, saying Nyozo had gone to Ntchuwa for farming on Monday but never returned. His body was discovered the following day, floating in the river.

“According to our investigations conducted in collaboration with medical experts, Nyozo died as a result of a stab wound to the neck,” said Zalakoma.

Police say they have launched a manhunt for the suspects, who will face murder charges once apprehended.

Macheso Nyozo hailed from Chindevu Village, under the authority of Chief Malemia in Nsanje District.
