A Hong Kong-bound Qatar Airways flight made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport on Tuesday following a technical glitch. All passengers aboard the aircraft are safe, sources said.

Flight QR816, which left Doha at 9:17 am, made an emergency landing in Ahmedabad at 2:32 pm. The plane was scheduled to land in Hong Kong at 9:45 pm today.

The nature of the technical glitch was not known at the time of writing.

Technical checks are currently being carried out to assess the condition of the aircraft, sources said.
