BONNE TERRE, Mo. (KFVS) - The death chamber at the state prison in Bonne Terre is being prepared for Missouri’s first execution of the year.

Lance Shockley is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14.

Shockley is on death row for the shooting death of Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Carl DeWayne Graham Jr.

Graham was gunned down outside his Van Buren home back in 2005.

At the time, Graham was investigating Shockley’s involvement in a deadly drunk driving crash.

During his murder trial in 2009, prosecutors told jurors that Shockley went to Graham’s home, shot the trooper from behind, paralyzing him. Graham was then shot in the face and shoulder.

The jury found Shockley guilty of first-degree murder.
