Regarding the letter to the editor " Benefits of fluoridated water include more than just dental health " (Oct. 10): I am 72 years old and grew up in O'Fallon, Mo., on well water. It was very good water but without fluoride, I grew up with cavities. Most of my back teeth have caps; I have had four teeth pulled along the way.

My children have always had fluoride in their water. None of the four are autistic — and they all have very good teeth. Fluoridation of water supplies needs to continue.
