New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced its first list of 71 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. It is scheduled to take place in two phases in November 6 and 11.
The list features several prominent leaders including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, who will contest from Tarapur and Lakhisarai constituencies respectively. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tarakishore Prasad has been fielded from Katihar, while senior state minister Renu Devi will contest from Bettiah.
Among other names, Nitish Mishra will contest re-election from Jhanjharpur, Mangal Pandey from Siwan, and Shreyasi Singh, a well-known shooter and sitting MLA, from Jamui.
