Sea turtle nesting season is coming to an end, and lifeguards in Volusia County are on alert to patrol the beaches for washback turtles until November 30.

These reptiles often get stuck in sargassum seaweed and are brought back onto the sand.

Any washback turtles are brought to the Marine Science Center for rehabilitation and release.
