VALPARAISO — Police say a 26-year-old Gary man took the law into his own hands and after pursuing someone along U.S. 30 believed to have his cell phone, he approached with a loaded rifle and pointed it as the other motorist sped away.
The accused, Jahbari Dawson Bey, was located by Porter County police, taken into custody and has been charged with felony counts of intimidation with a deadly weapon and pointing a firearm, records show.
Police say they were called out around 9:17 p.m. Saturday and met the alleged victim in the area of U.S. 30 and Ind. 49 where he reported an attempted armed robbery.
Police said they located the three suspects at a gas station along U.S. 30.
