Bloomington South is one of only 20 undefeated football teams left in Indiana and just two in Class 5A.

The Panthers are ranked second behind the other 8-0 squad, New Palestine, and this week's home game against 6A No. Center Grove (7-1) will expose whatever warts the Panthers still have as they head into the two-week break before the sectional opener vs. Terre Haute South.

It will be the 398th game in the hall of fame career of Edgewood grad and CG coach Eric Moore and the first regular-season meeting between the two since 1997.

In the long run, it will also be seen as a statement game on South's readiness to face one of the Indianapolis area's best in 5A after consecutive tough losses to Decatur Central, should the Panthers advance that far again.
