The Deputy Chief of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai on Monday said that responding to the Pahalgam terrorist attack was inevitable. Indian forces had prepared for it in advance.

While giving this statement, Ghai was briefing the military chiefs of 32 countries on Operation Sindoor at the UN Troop Contributing Countries (UNTCC) conference. He claimed in his statement that the response to the Pahalgam attack was delayed but a well-planned move.

He said that the Army had planned this in collaboration with many agencies. In April 2025, terrorists attacked Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

26 innocent tourists were killed in this attack. Following this, India launched Operation Sindoor, attacking terrorist bases in Pakistan, killing over 100 terrorists.
