UTICA, New York (WWNY) - Three former correction officers, including Adams resident David Kingsley, are on trial in Oneida County Court for the beating death of Marcy Correctional Facility inmate Robert Brooks in December of last year.

The trial resumed on Tuesday after a day off on Monday for the holiday.

The courtroom, much fuller than last week, as the prosecution is expected to rest its case.

First to take the stand was former Sergeant Glenn Trombly, one of the supervisors during the beating that night.

Trombly told the jury, when he got to the scene, he saw Brooks on the ground, and he could tell he had been pepper-sprayed. At this point, he didn’t see any injuries on Brooks.
