Parts of the UK could see a flurry of snow land over an 18-hour period, bringing with it freezing temperatures.

Weather maps from WX Charts have turned purple ahead of an expected powdering of the white stuff.

According to wxcharts.com, snow is set to arrive over the Scottish Highlands from 6am on Tuesday, October 21.

Flurries of snow are set to continue falling over the region until midnight on Wednesday, October 22.

The arrival of snow could bring freezing conditions, with weather maps from WX Charts indicating the temperature plummeting to 0C.
