LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Fall has arrived in the valley, bringing with it strong wind gusts, possibly in excess of 45 mph, which will blow into the valley on Tuesday. Wind and dust advisories are in effect from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.

There's also a chance for scattered showers across the valley as the day progresses into the evening. The temperature will dip into the low 50s overnight. The valley hasn't had temperatures in that range since April.

"The highlight is how cold this system is, and our first snowfall of the season," 8 News Now weather anchor Sherry Swensk said.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Mount Charleston and Red Rock. Lee Canyon will get its first snow of the season. While it's not the earliest snowfall, it's earlier than usual.
