ANN ARBOR, MI — The University of Michigan is considering the demolition of a mess hall and adjacent ancillary facilities at a research facility in Wyoming at a cost of $9.2 million.
The UM Board of Regents will vote Thursday, Oct. 16, on the project at Camp Davis Rocky Mountain Field Station about 30 miles south of Jackson, Wyoming, according to an action item .
The 120-acre field station owned by the university was established in 1929 and is operated by the UM Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, part of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.
It offers courses in geology, environmental science, and the humanities, and is also used for academic conferences, alumni gatherings, and guest programs.
