MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- New developments occurred in the effort by Shelby County leaders to oust Clerk Wanda Halbert Tuesday.
Both sides argued their case before the state court of appeals earlier this month.
On Monday, the court granted a stay on that appeal as both sides agreed to enter into mediation, bringing in a retired judge in an effort to help them settle.
The decision on the appeal is now on pause, and the mediation is scheduled for October 30.
