LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The start of the women's college basketball season is just three weeks away, and expectations are high for the Cards and 'Cats.

Louisville comes in at No. 20 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll while Kentucky is four spots behind at No. 24.

The Cardinals went 22-11 in 2024-25, including 13-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and are coming off a Round of 32 appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Coach Jeff Walz's team faces eight opponents ranked in the AP Top 25, including its Nov. 4 season opener against UConn in Ramstein, Germany, and ACC foes No. 7 Duke (Feb. 5 at home), No. 9 NC State (Jan. 18, away) and No. 11 North Carolina (Dec. 14, away).
