LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The college basketball season is right around the corner, and both Louisville and Kentucky's women's basketball programs have earned national recognition.
In the AP preseason Top 25 poll released Tuesday, Louisville is ranked No. 20, while Kentucky is tied for No. 24 with the Richmond Spiders.
Louisville received 228 votes for the preseason poll, while Kentucky earned 93.
This is the 15th consecutive year the Cardinals have started the season ranked inside the AP Top 25. The last time they started the season unranked was 2010.
It is the 12th time in 16 seasons the Wildcats have earned a preseason ranking from the AP.
