A 23-year-old has been charged with stabbing a man in the chest during a weekend argument in Lancaster.

Lancaster resident Manolo F. Martinez was charged with one count of aggravated assault after a stabbing that was reported around 11:45 p.m. Saturday on the 200 block of Dauphin Street. The block is mostly homes but also has a restaurant and corner store at the intersection.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Lancaster police said Martinez stabbed a man in the left upper chest area. He was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for life-saving surgery, court documents said.
