The Port of Longview will have a new chief executive next month, the port announced Friday.

Port commissioners appointed Ken Anderton to the role at a meeting the same day.

“This was a highly competitive national search,” said port commission President Allan Erickson in a news release. “Mr. Anderton’s professional portfolio and port industry experience will serve the port well as we embark on a significant period of growth and development.”

Anderton has spent the last two decades at the Port of Portland, working his way from leasing manager to senior manager for real estate development, leasing and investment.
