SHEPHERDSTOWN - Shepherd and West Chester battled back and forth during a tightly-contested PSAC matchup on Saturday at Ram Stadium.
With a couple of game-changing special teams plays and a defensive stand at the end of the game, the Rams were able to come with away with a 28-24 victory over the Golden Rams, their second straight.
"It's not really pretty, but we found a way to win, and I think, as you get a team that works hard and grinds it out, they're going to find ways to win," Shepherd coach Ernie McCook said.
Shepherd (2-4), which racked up 328 yards of offense, jumped on the scoreboard first with 5:59 left in the first quarter after Grant Swinehart scored on a 2-yard touchdown run to help give the Rams a 7-0 lead. Then, came a high-scoring second quarter, which saw 21 points betw
