More than $4 million in federal funding is still available to boost small businesses and start-ups in the First State - but, it has to be allocated by the end of the year.
The Delaware Division of Small Business introduced the State Small Business Credit Initiative in April 2025. Two years earlier, the U.S. Treasury awarded Delaware a total of $60.9 million over three allocations. To get to the next round of funding, $14 million must end up in the hands of small business owners and entrepreneurs by December 31.
The Division of Small Business provides partial funding to a bank, credit union or Community Development Financial Institution to help them make small business loans available.
