UNC basketball has been picked to finish third in the ACC preseason poll , released by the league on Oct. 14.

Selected by a panel of regional and national media, the 2025-26 poll has Duke as the favorite to repeat as league champion, followed by Louisville and the Tar Heels.

Entering its fifth season under coach Hubert Davis, UNC has 11 newcomers on its roster to join senior guard Seth Trimble. Arizona transfer Henri Veesaar, Alabama transfer Jarin Stevenson, Colorado State transfer Kyan Evans, West Virginia transfer Jonathan Powell and Virginia Tech transfer Jaydon Young.
