Several agenda items during the upcoming City Commission meeting on Wednesday will move forward the Overlander Road project, which seeks to widen the road with open ditches into three lanes.

The first agenda item approves a proposal for construction material testing from Kaw Valley Engineering, for an estimated $35,090. The project will widen Overlander Road for an additional three lanes with a center turn lane, while adding a storm sewer and a curb and gutter. The project is slated to be paid from $2.5 million from the Kansas Department of Transportation’s (KDOT) Economic Development Plan, up to $1 million from the City’s Federal Fund Exchange Dollars, and from a bond issuance.
