A week has gone by since Hornet volleyball suffered a loss at the hands of their rivals in Washburn. During an important stretch of the year that saw them begin a five-game homestand, starting with the Washburn game, it wasn’t exactly off to the right foot, and it wasn’t going to get easier. They would face the then-number-two team in the country, Nebraska-Kearney.

With the toughest opponent on the schedule coming into White Auditorium and the team coming off a bad loss to a rival, it wasn’t looking great going into the match against the Lopers. That feeling turned around quickly as the Hornets would take the first set off a 6-2 run. It was over after that as the Lopers could not get within five points of the Hornets in the rest of the sets.
