SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- With an eye toward construction next year, City Council has dedicated three city-owned parcels of property, including right-of-way for bike lanes along the Lee Road corridor.
About 26,000 square feet of property in front of City Hall, the Stephanie Tubbs Jones (STJ) Community Building and a sliver at the corner of Lee and Chalfant Road near the police station will be designated for the Lee Road Complete Street Improvement Project.
It ties into the transformative Lee Road Action Plan , for which the city has already secured about $24.5 million in funding.
Plans call for reducing the number of car lanes from four (two in each direction) down to three, consisting of one lane each way and a center left-turn lane.
From there, in-road bike lanes will be added north
