LAKE STATION — Death investigators identified the truck driver who was killed in a crash on the Borman Expressway near Lake Station Monday afternoon.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Sean R. Gilchrist, a resident of Harvey, Illinois. The coroner's office responded to the scene at mile marker 13.5, where Gilchrist was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m.

An autopsy conducted at the Lake County Forensic Center in Crown Point confirmed the cause of death as blunt force traumatic injuries sustained in the crash. The Indiana State Police and Lake Station Fire Department also responded to the scene, the coroner's office said.

The fatal crash took place at 4 p.m. Monday, about a mile east of the Interstate 65 interchange.
