The South Carolina Department of Public Health is responding to a measles outbreak in the Upstate.
As of Oct. 14, there have been 16 cases of measles in South Carolina ― 12 of them concentrated in Spartanburg County ― since July 9.
Measles cases have been confirmed at Global Academy and Fairforest Elementary School, where more than 150 students are believed to be unvaccinated and are quarantining at home. These students may return to school on Oct. 22, per Spartanburg District 6.
