New details about Alec Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin ’s frightening car accident have emerged.

One day after the Oscar nominee crashed his wife Hilaria Baldwin ’s Range Rover into a tree while driving with his brother in East Hampton, N.Y., authorities addressed how the Oct. 13 incident occurred.

Alec, 67, was “avoiding the turning action” of a commercial truck registered to the National Waste Services when the collision took place, East Hampton Town Police Department Chief Michael D. Sarlo confirmed in a statement to Us Weekly published Oct. 14.

The statement also listed “a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions” as contributing factors in the collision, noting that no injuries were reported and no summons have been issued.
