Bourne Bridge in Barnstable County has been reopened after it closed Sunday due to a multi-vehicle crash, the state transportation officials said.
Shortly after 1 p.m., Bourne first responders arrived at the bridge, where they assisted with directing traffic and providing medical assistance, the statement said.
Police said that following the crash, one driver became entrapped in their vehicle and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with serious injuries.
The bridge was closed in both directions as officials investigated the crash, and later reopened around 5:30 p.m., the Mass Department of Transportation announced on social media.
State Police are investigating the incident.
