OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) — A man accused of a 2024 murder received additional charges Tuesday after an attempted escape in August.

Jonathon Geno Lemus, 32, has spent over a year in the Weber County Correctional Facility after being accused of shooting and killing a man outside an Ogden home in September 2024.

The Ogden City Police Department says officers were dispatched to the area of 28th Street and Childs Avenue on Sept. 21, 2024. Upon arrival they found a man with "several gunshot wounds."

According to charging documents, the victim told police and EMTs that someone named "Johnathon" shot him. The victim was transported to the hospital by medical personnel.
