MARSHAL COUNTY, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Marshal County Sheriff is warning of two scams that have been reported to them.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff's office said they have been made aware of a computer-based scam and a government impersonation scam.
Computer-based scam
The post said people have reported a pop-up message or alerts on their screens telling them to call a number for a problem with their computer.
During the call, the scammers guide the person through a way to unknowingly give them access to their computer and personal banking information.
