BATH, N.Y. (WETM) — Two people were arrested in October after police accused them of mistreating a dog in their care.
Darla B. Martin, 45, and Daniel J. Gartland, 70, both of Bath, were arrested on Monday, Oct. 13, on the charge of AM 353- failure to provide proper sustenance, according to information from the Village of Bath Police Department.
The arrest stems from an investigation that started back in September when police were sent to a home on West Morris Street, where a female golden retriever was potentially being abused.
When police first saw the dog, it appeared to need medical care, and the owners of the dog were told to take the animal to the vet, under New York State Agriculture and Market Laws.
