GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - A death investigation is underway after the discovery of a body in a canal in Georgetown County.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jason Lesley said deputies responded to a report of a body in a canal off of John Green Lane in Wedgefield Plantation.

Investigators are on the way to the scene.

Deputies have not provided further details about the discovery.
