(WXIN/WTTV) — Johnson County Coroner Mike Pruitt has turned himself in to police and been booked into jail after he was charged with giving young high school students alcohol and cannabis gummies.

NewsNation local affiliate WXIN/WTTV crews witnessed Pruitt being walked into the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in handcuffs around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. He will now be held in jail without bond.

The arrest comes after a warrant was issued Tuesday morning, charging Pruitt with seven counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and seven counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor – all misdemeanor charges. Court records show he made an initial
