Two new public opinion polls, conducted by separate organizations with distinct sponsors, show a majority of registered Hoosier voters don't want state lawmakers to immediately redraw Indiana's congressional districts to more heavily favor Republican candidates.

Indeed, both surveys found barely one-third of Hoosiers are eager for the unusual mid-decade redistricting promoted by Republican President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance to try to maintain GOP control of the U.S. House following the 2026 elections and stave off any investigations of Trump's potentially extralegal conduct during his second, non-consecutive term as president.
