BELFAST, Maine (WABI) - When it comes to volunteering, it’s easy to get stumped before you even get started, asking questions like, ‘Who needs my help?’ and ‘Where can my skills be best applied?’
On Tuesday, United Midcoast Charities gave a helping hand to those wanting to help out with their second Volunteer Expo, hosted at the Waldo County YMCA.
“United Midcoast Charities has been around since 1942, and we serve nonprofits in the areas of health and safety, economic security, food, and housing,” explains Executive Director Becca Gildred. “By bringing them all together, you can see what opportunities exist, figure out what your skill sets would solve in the community, and show that the whole community has to come together to make it work.”
