BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s 16th Annual Champion the Cure Challenge raised more than $750,000 for local cancer care.

Northern Light Health says almost 1,800 people took part in the challenge this year.

Participants raised money through a walk, run, cycle, paddle, horse ride, or by participating virtually.

The proceeds directly benefit advanced cancer care and supporting patients at Northern Light’s cancer care program.

The 2026 Challenge will kick off next year starting in August.
