A man from out-of-state has been arrested for allegedly driving on the wrong side of Route 2 in East Hartford and causing a crash on Sunday.

Connecticut State Police said a man in his 20s from Pennsylvania was allegedly driving while under the influence, causing a crash and taking off.

Troopers responded to the area of exit 2B on Route 2 Eastbound earlier Sunday morning. Responding officers said the driver was later located, and he showed signs of impairment in his speech actions.

State police said he failed a field sobriety test and is facing charges including reckless driving, evading responsibility, reckless endangerment and driving the wrong way.

The man was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear
