LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) -- A family-owned Dairy Queen in Lisbon is closing after 47 years of business.
In 1978, Gary Leininger and his parents bought the Dairy Queen with hopes of making it a family business.
"It was crazy," Leininger said. "I mean, there wasn't much in Lisbon, so a lot of people ventured out here."
The Leininger family has continued to run the shop on Route 45 ever since -- until now. Gary and his father just announced that this will be the shop's last season, and, after selling the business, they'll serve their last cone at the end of October.
"Dairy Queen, once they want new stuff up, they want a new building, and, you know, they want a drive-thru restaurant, which I get all that," Leininger said. "But I'm 68, my dad's 91. And, you know, we're not ready for that next tr
